These are alternate versions of the popular Jake the Dog and Finn the Human from the previous series, a concept initially posed as fanfiction in several forums and eventually made its way to novel concept to the show’s creators, who adopted it and turned it into an official thing.

Announced back in 2021 and in development for two years, the show will finally be released by Max as a part of their Adult Swim and adult-themed animated series that incorporates many works.

This is part of their strategy to capture viewers from rival competitor Fox, which holds animated powerhouses like The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Paramount’s Comedy Central’s South Park.

To bring life to the animated characters, executive producers Adam Muto, Sam Register, and Michael Hirsh cast Madeleine Martin (from JoJo’s Circus and Californication) to voice Fionna the Human. Joining her, we have Roz Ryan and Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants).
